Airplane Recovery

On Saturday, April 12, 2008 Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad responded Technical Rescue 263 to the Potsdam Municipal Airport. When on-scene, we discovered an AirFreight plane that had left the runway and was stuck in the mud approximately 100 feet from the runway. PVRS's air bag lifting devices were used to lift the collapsed landing gear so that a dolly could be inserted under the port-side wing. Once this was accomplished, Martin's wrecker was used to winch the airplane from the mire. Potsdam Fire responded R-14 to assist with its' supply of compressed air. View more...

PVRS frequently interfaces with both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft at the airport in potsdam. These flight crews serve to transport the critically injured to trauma centers in Syracuse and Burlington. View more...
